Najee earned that 5th year option. I hope they declined to give him a long-term deal at an above average price. 🙏🏾

Baltimore gets a huge RB and we don’t pay Najee, doesn’t make any sense. Yes, I like Omar decisions but clearly he is not perfect. Najee should look for his future and clearly will not be with this guys.

Maybe we should see how he does this season before we make that decision

I believe Omar is a slave to the metrics, based on his draft tendencies. In other words, he's playing an NFL version of Money Ball. Replacong Johnson is no big deal 'cuz he can find 600 yds. and one TD almost anywhere cheaper, AND get a WR that will actually nlock and play thru every play in the bargain. Much jas been made of how much the coach loves Naj, but let's be real, the Not For Long league is a billionaire's plantation game where the players are meaningless pieces of toilet paper. I mean they have a so-called union, but it has got to be the wrakest and most useless on the planet. If it wasn't, there wouldn't be a single stadium that WASN'T real grass. Instead the players still risk high probability of non-contact injuries every time they even step onto the field. The entire NFL concusion gambit is utter BS (especially w/ those useless bubble helmets). ALL of these guys are selling their brain function and years off of the end of their life in order to entertain us. We, as fans, should insist that the league be subject to all antitrust laws (they are currently exempt for no good reason) and the profits should be split between the players, coaches, and THE CITIES THAT PAID FOR THEIR STSDIUMS, AND PAY FOR THE SUPPORTING INFRASTRUCTURE EVERY GAME DAY! The owners should be the ones on a leash and allowance. Maybe 10%, which is still an insane amount of money, but no more. Naj knows what's up, and maybe the overseers let him try free agency, maybe not. Either way, he's just another cotton picker to these uber rich p$%cks, and Omar is just playing the percentages.

If you could only sign one, who would you choose? I hope they’ll base their decision on merit vs. pedigree.

I do hope this isn't the case but could it be possible that they under use Najee this year to undervalue him .. I believe Najee should be a Steeler for life but I will be a fan of both for life regardless .. ✌️🙏🍻

You make excellent points, Chris. I liked the Steelers approach initially, but it’s better to show your running back that you believe in him. My thought is that Najee will get more than 7 million next year regardless.

I find it absolutely ridiculous how some fans seem to overthink things. I mean we just had the draft, and now people are freaking out about Najee's contract situation. It's only an issue when podcasts such as this report something that shefter or some other so called in the know journalists say something about it. Why give him a 5th year extension for one extra year at 6 million…when you can sign him for multiple years at 6 million a year (Incentive driven)

Smart move by the Khan Artist!!! Najee has poor field vision and I believe Warren is a better runner! I still love Najee, but at a cap friendly price!!! We can’t pay two RBs! We need to keep Warren too!!!

It seems like since Dan Rooney passed away, the Steelers show no loyalty to their players. I know it's a business but Dan Rooney valued his players.

It's just realizing they took his status as a captain last year and they already know about what he wants AND unless he has a special Derrick Henry type season then he will be packing after the season. I would trade him for a receiver right now if I could. That way you can get a little value back.

1000 yds with 17 games means what? This isn't 1974. Do the math. Harris averages 64 yds per game/3.9 per carry. Plus, he only has had six 100 games out of 51 games played. Add in his passive comments to the press, to include questioning the team's work ethic and culture, and this is the result. The team is weeding out the immaturity.

Steelers, as good as management is, they mishandled Franco. They didn't keep the OL in top condition for Ben the last few years and another trophy or 2. Same OL problem for our new QBs. Didn't judge Mason or Kenny fairly while letting Canada decompose the team for 3 years. A disrespectful Treatement our 2 homegrown drafted QBs who would have improved the Steelers chances for trophies immediately. Instead management let their egos cloud their judgement, and dumped these QBs. Management kept a cancerous AB around who negatively affected Bell. They are good, but they could, they should be great and treat players better and instill better discipline .

The Steelers have roughly 20 MIL in Cap Space. Cut Holcomb and Herbig will save 8 Mil, then you will have 28 Mil in Cap Space. Go and Sign/Trade for DK Metcalf or Courtland Sutton, Sign Justin Simmons or Stephen Gilmore and Sign Calias Campbell. These additions win the Super Bowl.

Chris,.I agree Steelers made a mistake not extending Najee's unless they extend him before training camp. Although Khan and scouts have had excellent 2 drafts stop downplaying Colbert's accomplishments. Until Khan brings in 2 Superbowls and draft HOF players slow your roll on Khan's accomplishments.

Again let NH walk just like Bell and CONNER....and see how long you keep hearing about their performance with other teams

I don't see it as a mistake. NH had intermittent periods when he DID NOT PRODUCE until WARREN continued to CONSISTENCY and PRODUCTION...

It's smart. If Najee walks in FA they will get a decent comp pick out of it. They have JW who is just as capable, if not more so than Najee. This move allows them to pay JW when the time comes. Another though, they may be looking at trading Najee for a WR yet this off season. Not signing the fifth year option allows them to do that

If anything, this will motivate Najee to have the best season he has had so far so that he will get the deal he wants in 2025!

I feel like this is gunna cause nothing bc but drama why would najee go out and possibly get 350 touches when he doesn’t have any long term stability he’s gunna just sit out or hold in and cause drama
